About Me

Hi! My name is Kim.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the founder of BrightLife Therapy PLLC, offering virtual therapy across Texas. Originally from California, I now live in Texas with my fiancé and our fur baby, Sammy. As a queer, neurodivergent Latina, I know how important it is to feel truly seen, heard, and supported—especially when navigating mental health in a complex world.

Since 2016, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including shelters, hospitals, and private practice, supporting individuals and families from all walks of life—immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, trauma survivors, and more. I hold both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my fiancé and Sammy, traveling, being outdoors, reading, and taking care of my plants. Life’s simple moments with loved ones always bring me joy.

I take a client-centered, trauma-informed approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs. My work often centers around anxiety, relationship challenges, and trauma/PTSD. My goal is to help you feel safe, empowered, and at ease—whether that means showing up to session with your pet, a blanket, or your favorite coffee.

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to deepen your healing, I’m honored to walk this journey with you.

Let’s get comfortable and begin the healing journey!
